About Us

We are a Community Interest Company and we work across Bristol, South Gloucestershire, B&NES, North Somerset and Wiltshire. We work with children and young people aged between 6 and 25, identifying where the gaps in support exist. We work collaboratively with children, young people, families, professional agencies, Local Authorities, Schools, Voluntary Sector Organisations and charitable trusts/foundations to ensure that we meet the needs of our communities’ most vulnerable children and young people.

Building on the strengths, abilities and talents of children and young people, our specialist team ensures that no child or young person is left without help, and that children and young people are encouraged and supported to develop their own resilience, skills to overcome any barriers that prevent them from engaging with their education, their families and in their community.

 What we can provide

The support we provide is tailored to each and every child or young person we work with, and is designed to improve relationships at home, in the community and in school settings. Our work with children and young people school settings help to increase attendance, contributes to progress and attainment.

Some of the ways we engage children and young people includes:

  • 1:1 mentoring support

Our 1:1 support works with children and young people between the ages of 6-25 to build on their strengths, abilities and talents; overcome barriers to engagement and education; and to develop their own resilience and capability, because we believe every child and young person can reach their potential

  • 1:1 group support including online

Working in groups we run Adventure Play, detached outreach, centre-based, targeted specialist and open access play and youth sessions which all provide safe spaces for children and young people to learn valuable life skills, build resilience, self-esteem and confidence and to access specialist help to overcome entrenched life challenges and trauma, and develop strategies to manage their lives

  • Education re-engagement work

Working 1:1 and/or in small groups we engage with the child or young person to help them to understand the reasons behind their actions, help them take steps regulate themselves and support them to build positive relationships within their community, home and educational setting

  • LPW Independent School

We are a full-time Alternative Learning Provider for young people in Years 10 and 11. We focus on supporting learners’ personal and social development to re-engage them with their education, ensuring they gain qualifications and move forward into further education, training or employment

  • Training for Professionals

We provide bespoke multi-agency training, development and support to upskill professionals to deliver their own high quality relationship driven interventions where appropriate

 Our approach

We understand that many of the children and young people we work will have experienced one or more Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) or traumas. Our team of specialist Engagement Workers and teaching staff are all trauma informed practitioners that provide highly personalised support which is co-constructed with children and young people, referring agencies, parents/carers and schools. Using trauma and attachment theory approaches, relentless care and personalised plans we work in partnership to build a holistic and clear picture of need(s).

We work collaboratively to get the best outcomes for children and young people and their families. We take time help children and young people to understand the reasons behind their actions, take steps regulate themselves and support them to build positive relationships with their families and friends, in their community and educational settings creating independence from our support.
