Volunteering matters

19th June 2017

Two young men supporting LPW at The Vench, the Lockleaze Adventure Playground, have been honoured by the community for their outstanding commitment as local volunteers.

Josh, on the left, has been attending The Vench for a couple of years. Jack, has been a regular visitor since he was six, building strong relationships with LPW staff and the children and young people using the playground, where he commits to doing at least three hours of volunteering a week. They both supervise children, get them playing, organise activities like cooking and help the staff.

“Volunteering at the Vench is great. You can help out with kids and I feel like I’m doing something good for my community.” – Jack

Both young men were awarded Lockleaze Volunteer Awards at a celebration dinner.
