Shared Commissioning Services
The Shared Commissioning Services team has enabled the four local authorities in the West of England to collectively exercise their responsibilities in relation to the education and training for 16-18 year olds (up to 25 years for individuals with a learning difficulty and or disability).
The past year has seen significant changes in responsibilities and relationships within education and training.
With effect from 28th April 2011, the SCS team members will be based within their home local authority.
Until you are advised otherwise, your existing 16-19 Partnership Manager for your local authority area remains your point of contact.
Importantly, a number of functions / services will continue to operate across boundaries at a West of England wide level. These include the Post 16 LLDD Placement Process, advice and support on planning and funding matters and strategic analysis. Final decisions on detailed arrangements are subject to further work.
