As the Connexions West Yate team is now based closer to its five schools and most of its NEET cohort, we hope to be able to deliver our service more efficiently too.
In order to gain these practical benefits, we have had to overcome some of the challenges of working in a new building: new and varied IT systems, reduced storage space and limited parking availability, for example. The Connexions West Yate team has worked hard, with help from colleagues, to overcome these barriers, and is clearly determined to ensure that our clients continue to receive a quality service.
With building projects now underway for the Severnvale and Kingswood hubs, these are exciting times for children and young people’s services in South Gloucestershire; there is much to learn from this first co-location, but if that learning continues to be well applied, the benefits to the children, young people and families of South Gloucestershire ought to be tremendous.
