Members of the public attended the three events and watched the free short open-air urban dance performances in Millennium Square, Cabot Circus (outside House of Fraser), and St James Barton Roundabout underpass.
The dance routines involved nearly 100 people from across Bristol. Many of the dancers were young people aged between 16 and 18 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET). As well as giving these young people valuable training for the specific dance performance, the City of Bristol College event will also support them in accessing further training, education and work in the future.
Sophie Hurst, Education Unlimited Manager at City of Bristol College, comments: “Bristol’s Big Dance was a real success and everyone involved had a great time. It gave the young people involved the opportunity to do something that’s really creative and lots of fun.”
She continued: “Our dancers have all trained really hard to be part of an amazing display that their friends and family could come along to watch. Thank you to all those people who joined in the fun during the events and supported the dance group and all their hard work.”
