Around 12 young people took part in the Pilot Project and have made significant steps forward as shown by a typical case study:
A Young Person had been unemployed for 18 months and was fixed firmly in ‘I only want a job’ category, with low self-esteem, lacking in confidence and would often become aggressive/evasive when Professionals offered help. Young person’s parents and older siblings are long term unemployed, but PA had a long term relationship as a result of other work. Agreed to take part in the Project, and began structured sessions with the PA who also offered support to travel to and begin sessions with Engage.- Young Person built up positive relationship with Engage worker who offered four session of ‘emotional freedom’ sessions (PA support in the background, follow up texts and phone calls and lots of reassurance).
